Kindred Spirit

David Crane and Mike Hall both grew up and continue to live in Erwin, NC. They have been inseparable for 50 years, and their friendship has never wavered; in fact, it is stronger today than ever! Neither of them could have ever imagined that they would be singing together 50 years after their friendship began. Since their early school years, they have each had a strong love for music, which continues to this day. Gospel music is their favorite genre as they pursue their desire to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, David was a member of the New Life Gospel Band, where he developed many musical talents, including songwriting, playing keyboards, and guitar. In 2005, he joined Won4Christ, where he sang tenor and furthered his passion for gospel music. In 2007, at David's suggestion, Mike joined Won4Christ as a baritone. Over the following years, both continued to grow in their musical abilities. They are extremely grateful for their capacity to sing multiple parts and harmonies.

With a desire to take their musical journey to the next level, they engaged in much prayer and sought spiritual advice from close friends and family. As a result, Kindred Spirit was born in July 2016. In November 2017, Chris Johnson joined as their sound technician, and in January 2019, Walt Aiken joined the group, adding his distinct bass voice. David, Mike, Walt, and Chris continue to record music, performance tracks, and parts that they use during their performances. They are excited to see what God has in store for them as they step out in faith. “We took the first step, and now God will carry us in the direction He wants us to travel.”

David, Mike, Walt, and Chris pray that something God does through them will change the lives of many. They thank you for your continuing support and prayers, and above all, they thank God for His blessings upon us all!
